Based on the “official” Virtuemart 1.1.x series we have created an extended, faster and more flexible Virtuemart version: Virtuemart VMX!
As a subscriber, you have access to new features for your shop, bugfixes and security patches. We will keep you updated about new releases. All new features will be described in detail and – where it makes sense – will have a screencast.
The first release will include (see the VMX roadmap)
- better performance by optimizing the database queries
- an all new discount system for categories, products and shoppergroups (video)
- the option to create an order for customers through the backend
- the option to resend the order-confirmation-mail from the backend
- Joomla 1.5 compatible plugin system
Virtuemart VMX will be compatible with Joomla 1.6!
With your subscription, you support the Virtuemart development!
Virtuemart VMX is not a commercial Virtuemart version. All subscription payments will be used for Virtuemart:
- 25% will go to the Virtuemart project
- the rest will be used for the ongoing development of Virtuemart VMX and the all new Virtuemart 2.0
Why do we release Virtuemart VMX?
We want to close the gap between two Virtuemart versions!
The currently available “stable” Virtuemart version is 1.1.4 (with an upcomming maintenance release 1.1.5). The next major version will be 1.5, which is a MVC / Joomla 1.5+ compatible release that is based on 1.1. This version is currently in development. In Software development, during the development of a new version, normally the old versions are not extended anymore. It is the same with Virtuemart. After the decision to create an MVC-Version, the 1.1.x version did not receive any new features.
We see in our daily work, that Virtuemart needs new features and an active development. We respect the decision of the Virtuemart Team (which we are part of) and do not extend the “official” 1.1.4 version. So we decided to
